Dunkirk to Darkness

Episode 1 - Royal Rescue

17th July 1940

Mission – Royal Rescue

Gentlemen, welcome to your first mission.

Following the debacle at Dunkirk it has been realised that although many thousands of British infantry have escaped, one very important person has been captured. Alastair Windsor, 2nd Duke of Connaught and Strathearn 12th in line to the throne, had been serving, incognito, with the Royal Artillery regiment and as far as we know was captured at Ypres during the retreat to Dunkirk.

The French resistance have contacted us with intelligence as to his whereabouts. It seems he has been taken to Chateau de Cocove, some 37kms from Calais where the British prisoners are being held in a makeshift prison camp in the Chateau grounds.

Special Equipment

The Boffins at Baker Street have come up with some gadgets you chaps might need on this mission, we'd be grateful if you would try them out and report back so we can further refine them. There is a Gas pistol, a grappling harness and some high explosive rounds and they have also developed some smoke pellets.

We made some equipment cards to be used in the game using .45 rules

Our spies tell us that the camp is under the control of  Geheimabteilung – 13. We know nothing of this organisation.

Your mission is to rescue young Alastair before the Nazis discover who he is and make a great propaganda coup out of things. Also you are to bring back any information about Geheimabteilung – 13

Good Luck Gentlemen.

Our intrepid heroes were able to rescue the lucky Alastair Windsor, 2nd Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and attack the Manor house. Inside several scientists were meeting with a top German Operative. In the confusion he escaped but his briefcase was discovered with top secret plans inside!

The scientists were taken prisoner and rushed back to the waiting submarine. They will be debriefed later in London.

The PM has wasted no time in hailing our triumph - a great propaganda coup.

GENTLEMEN the Doomsday clock has been set back by 5 minutes!
